Fall 2025: Workbook PDFs

I think one of the coolest things about an All Access Aquatic Professional membership is the PDFs to all the workbooks I’ve published in the last 10 years.

Not only are Teaching Swimming: Fun and Effective Instruction and Lesson Coordinator Handbook incredible color printed books from Amazon, they’re super effective as PDFs for in-house printing to save time and money!

When you’re a subscriber, you get the full, non-watermarked PDF to use, download, print from, and use as a digital resource, or as a printed one!

You can find the downloads by going to “My Account > Download Files” in the menu, or by going to the Downloads, Mentorship, & Tools course > Downloads.

Workbook PDFs are the standard for all training

They are intended for everyone to use frequently as a reference, a guide, and a training tool. Whether you’re a lone shark swim instructor or a manager of a lesson program they provide nearly everything you will need!

Story time: your stories

I’ve spent much of the last decade running this website listening to your struggles, investigating lesson programs, and seeing the growth and struggle of lesson coordinators and program administrators.

One of the biggest hurdles is when your competent aquatics supervisor leaves and you have a new person fill the role. We don’t have a similar standard. We don’t have a cohesive program in place that ensures all instructors are following similar language and organization.

These are the things I’ve heard from you!

What system do you recommend for training new swim instructors?

I’m a swimming administrator. My full time job is as an Aquatic Manager for a park district. I use these tools on a daily basis. I train my staff with the lesson coordinator handbook. I train my swim instructors with the Level Structure and Teaching Swimming online courses. I print out the Teaching Swimming workbook PDFs on indestructible paper, bind them and put them on the pool deck. We use the printed books from Amazon.

You may not know this but I abhor drudgery and mindless repetition of mundane things; data entry, complicated steps, confusing arcane terms and hard-to-understand systems. I want things to be easy. I want them to be straightforward and easy to communicate to inexperienced teenagers (the bulk of people I work with). I want to lay the groundwork for them to take over and lead on their own, be successful in the water on their own, and build a thriving happy client base that LOVES coming to lessons even when instructors change frequently and staff leave after 2-3 years.
