Halloween Round 1:
– Sit on side. Splash and Kick.
– Sitting on side, push the smile face floats underwater with hands and feet.
– Throw a toy, jump in, front float to the toy, back float back to the wall.
– Repeat.

SONG:

To scare some folks on Halloween,
I’ll tell you what I’ll do.
I’ll hide behind this pumpkin face,
and then I’ll yell . . .Boo!

Can do this with child sitting on the side, or with the child in the parent’s arms.

Round 2:
– Front Float Blast off the wall; use feet to push off the wall after a count to 3.
– Crawl across the yellow mat (if you want to)
– Kick independently with the barbell / kickboard.
– Motorboat song; MOVE! At “step on gas” swing child in an “S” curve.
– Calm Down with a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song back float. Parents: walk backwards a lot.

Parent Tot – Song – The Wheels on the Bus

Hold the swimmer in the “saddle” as pictured below.

The Wheels on the Bus go…

Splash splash splash.

The Wipers on the bus go, swish, swish, swish.

The People on the bus go, Up and down, up and down, up and down.

Round 3:
– Going underwater: Scooping vs Dunking

– Start at Chin
Then Lips,
then Nose,
Then Eyes

Work going underwater into your chained together activities.
– Throw a toy. Jump in (go under up to comfort level).
– Front float to the toy (Motorboat song, encourage to Kiss the water).
– Get the toy. Maybe go underwater as a prerequisite to get the toy.
– Back float back; ears should be in the water (if possible).
